Egor Novikov is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, who joined the Gorodetsky Group in 2024.

He received his M.S. in Chemistry from New Mexico Highlands University (Las Vegas, NM, USA) in 2024, his M.S. in Chemical Technology from St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technology and Design (Saint Petersburg, Russia) in 2020, and his B.S. in Chemistry from St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technology and Design (Saint Petersburg, Russia) in 2018. Prior to joining the Gorodetsky Group, Egor worked on X-ray analysis of crystal structures, synthesis of new photoswitcher molecules and co-crystals, and in the pulp and paper industry. He is particularly interested in the biophotonics applications of protein-based materials and cell engineering.

In the Gorodetsky Group, Egor’s current research focuses on cephalopod-inspired bioelectronic control of cellular signaling.
